Another part of my journey…DETOX yoga!
I have always loved yoga. Since first year university, when Annabelle Griffiths (now Fitzsimmons of ClearSpace Online), came back from a summer yoga retreat and taught our entire theatre program the sun salutations. I was hooked.
At one point I was even thinking of heading to India with my step-mom, but getting pregnant with my first child in 2002 saved me from having to back out due to my fear of giant spiders…ahem.
I love the postures, … Read entire

How full is your CUP?
Actually Oprah’s Lifeclass wasn’t the beginning of my journey, but it was an incredibly profound moment amongst the many I have recently had. It really began with the blessing of a new therapist. That’s right, I said it out loud. I love me some good therapy. Some might say it’s a little narcissistic, or very California of me, but guess … Read entire
Travel, Tasting, Temptation, and Transformation….
Where did we last leave off? I have missed you all, and have missed the keyboard clicking away under my fingers as thoughts spring to my brain, and I spill them out for all of you to read. I hope you are still reading!?
Alas, the real world took a turn and over the last 3 months I have been on … Read entire
Feeding Frenzy
I have been on a cooking frenzy since the first of the year. It’s all about whole foods. That’s, real food. That I cook. From scratch. I have to tell you that I have lost 4 lbs. since Xmas, simply by #1 NOT DRINKING ALCOHOL, and #2 cooking and juicing at home. I have compiled a bunch of recipes of … Read entire
Skinny Bitch-a bit of a rant.
I once had a Naturopath who asked me if I was naturally thin. What does that even mean? I didn’t know that was possible (why didn’t I get those genes?). My response to this was, “Are you kidding me, I work my F**king ass off to be this size!!” And hey, it’s not even like I’m Kate Moss or Giselle (I definitely don’t have Giselle’s boobs). But who wants to look like Kate Moss anyway? Another time I was at a party where I met a few new girls, and as we got acquainted, one of the girls laughed and as a joke (I am sure) called me a skinny bitch. To this I felt … Read entire
Are you adaptable?
That is the question. I don’t mean, can you adapt to every new situation life throws at you…the question here is, IS YOUR WORKOUT REGIME ADAPTABLE? I ask you this, because I don’t think mine is. I mean, was. For years, almost 10, I have woken up in the morning, and worked out first thing. First thing being between 8-10am, given the day. But the first thing I like to accomplish in my day (after getting my kids out the door) is working out. Now, obviously when I was working, that was harder to do, but I would squeeze it in where I could, early in the day, and hey, I work in fitness. The … Read entire
2012–Make it Happen!
I love a New Year’s Resolution. In fact I love creating many resolutions each year. I don’t feel bad if I don’t achieve them, as long as I have put in some real effort in and tried my best. I am not one of those people who doesn’t believe in resolutions because we should aspire to be, or do, or … Read entire

Girl Friends= Good Hormones
In my life I have always been around women. I have(had) 3 Grandmother’s who I am very close to, 2 Mom’s (mother, and Step), Aunts, Cousins, and Best friends in my life since the beginning of time. In particular, almost everyday for the last 6 years I have been surrounded by women in some capacity. I might have worked with a few clients on a particular day, who are all women and if they weren’t to start with, became my friends. I might have taught a class, filled with women. Somedays, I did my nails, in a nail salon, surrounded by women-some I knew intimately, some I considered close enough to reveal my warts … Read entire
Back in the Saddle
Well, it’s been a great summer. When I say great, I mean it. But ….yes, there is a but….it’s also been a long one. Which in some cases could be great, and was, but in the workout/exercise/self-care department…not so great. We had incredible weather (100 degrees some days..I know, I know, I am already a farenheit convert), we had many visitors from home (who brought us joy, created memories, and left us with tears and longing), we travelled our new home like tourists, we made friends, and spent a TON of time together. What we didn’t do was prioritize exercise. Not because we didn’t want to, but because we couldn’t. I know that sounds so … Read entire
